Frank Lloyd Wright in my neighborhood
I’m a volunteer for my township’s historical commission and we  rediscovered one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s residential homes in the area, the owner having recently passed away. Folly Cottage was designed in the 1920’s for Wright’s daughter, who was tragically … Continue reading
The Whitney Biennial reviews
I haven’t gotten into the city yet to see the Whitney Biennial and may have to skip it this time. Much time being spent painting my own work and getting house repairs finalized. What I have seen are interesting takes … Continue reading
February and a new team
I was recently invited to join a new Etsy team called Artisans Gallery. The members have been busy curating ‘treasuries’, or collections of products. Some of my work has been featured in a few of these treasuries lately and I … Continue reading

Snow and roses
A little sun, a little less snow. The neighbor with his crew who plowed my driveway and some lovely red roses just in time for Valentine’s Day (thanks A).
A second blizzard, paintings in progress
This snow is wetter and heavier than any of our other storms, still coming down since last night. And I’d just gotten the driveway completely clear! The birdbath is close to being obliterated from the view…Â Today it’s bread baking, … Continue reading

Blue skies in February
Update from Snowmageddon. After two days, most of the driveway is shoveled. At this point, I’m hoping one of the neighbors will come over with a snowplow….but at least there’s not much left. That’s if my back will hold up. … Continue reading

The great Nor’easter
I went to bed with snow coming down and woke up to the same weather. Stumbling out the front door, the snow was up to my knees. No NY Times out front, and I can’t get out the back door … Continue reading

February paintings and glaciers
I wanted to paint more snow scenes, but we haven’t had enough lately. So this week I resorted to glaciers and memories of travels in Glacier National Park and the Columbia Icefields in the Canadian Rockies, north of Jasper in … Continue reading

Pink Road in Umbria
I began this painting with brushwork, but ended up slashing at it with a palette knife. Too bad I can’t post the highest resolution here because it’s pretty damned juicy. Photographs helped to document my  walks on mostly unpaved roads, winding … Continue reading
