These paintings were all conceived during my residency in Montecastello di Vibio, Umbria in September 2007, at the School of International Painting, Drawing and Sculpture. Most have now been completed and can be found in the Eshop part of the blog.
26 artists attended the school, ate locally fresh Italian meals and often found ourselves painting en plein air together in the hills and valleys of Umbria. Our trips to Rome, Perugia, Assisi and Todi, the famous ceramics of Deruta  and the charming art deco architecture of Marsciano are documented at these links.
Jack has a fabulous villa outside Todi and spends the fall and spring on the lower east side.  A perfect balance. You can view pics of his pool (that I covet) in the link to the villa. He’s  selling two apartments at Buda in Umbria. His contact info is available from his website.
I had been to the Umbria jazz festival in Perugia in 2005 with my pal Kathleen, but living and painting for almost a month in Italy is a much different experience than a short 10 day vacation. Need to return to the area for further ‘research’….
